Climate Prat of 2013 – We have a winnah!

LMAO thank’s needed that. ;>)

Unlike last year, the available selection this one has been noticeably thin. A lot of the usual prats have been smart enough to pick up on the winds of change and are quietly deserting the sinking ship. All we’ve heard from them is the occasional splash of their tiny, wee, small, pale and pink, ratty hands as they silently paddle away into the darkness. That’s not to say there haven’t been any prats around but there’s been very few of the good old true-believer Panzergrenadier variety of prat you could really enjoy giving a bloody good hiding to.

One or two new ones have appeared on the scene but they fall somewhere in that middle ground between being a true climate prat and simply being too thick to realise times have changed. George Clooney is probably a typical example; armed with all the knowledge one usually acquires before dropping out of…

‘Twas the nightmare before Christmas

Yes Yes Merry Christmas to all.

Watts Up With That?

By Joe Bastardi

‘Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the news,
There were reports of record cold, so many were confused.
Told global warming is why we should care,
And that the point of no return would soon be here.

The children were bombarded with tales of dread,
While visions of climate disasters were stuck in each little head.
And mamma in her Prius, and I on my bike,
To save the planet, got rid of the cars that we like.

Trenberth and Fasullo Try to Keep the Fantasy Alive

Bob this is assume

Bob Tisdale - Climate Observations

Trenberth and Fasullo published a paper “An Apparent Hiatus in Global Warming?” last week in the new online journal Earth’s Future. Judith Curry briefly introduced the paper in her December 7, 2013 post Week in review (Thanks, Judith.)

From the last sentence of the abstract, Trenberth and Fasullo (2013) argues that:

Global warming has not stopped; it is merely manifested in different ways.

Midway through the paper, Trenberth and Fasullo (2013) begin a paragraph with:

Deniers of climate change often cherry-pick points on time series and seize on the El Niño warm year of 1998 as the start of the hiatus in global mean temperature rise (Figure 6).

But then Trenberth and Fasullo (2013) turn around and cherry pick the end year of the “hiatus” in their Figure 4 (shown below as my Figure 1). In it they attempt to show the similarities in global surface…
